We are a team of dedicated professionals who love what we do! We take the real estate business seriously and we believe that you can have fun doing what you love to do. We have a passion for working with buyers and sellers. Our goal is to help each client that we work with to obtain the best outcome in their real estate endeavor.
With Sellers we prepare a tailor made marketing plan to suit their property recognizing the fact that one size does not fit all. With Buyers we strive to not only find them a property with equity, but work with them through the process of getting estimates, building inspection, loan process and more.
Although we are a Bar Harbor real estate company, we have developed working relationships with clients throughout the Acadia real estate market. Our Bar Harbor real estate agency also serves the Ellsworth real estate market, the Blue Hill real estate area and the downeast regions of Hancock real estate including Sullivan real estate and Sorrento real estate.

We consider the region around Acadia to include not only all of Mount Desert Island, but the surrounding communities of Ellsworth Maine, Blue Hill Maine and the Down East including Sullivan and Hancock.

Veena Gaines Bar Harbor Real Estate Broker: Veena Gaines, MA, CRS, GRI, Designated Broker: Veena worked 7 years as Controller for a local hotel operator with multiple properties. Veena has a strong financial background and has also managed a hotel as well as being involved in sales at several retail businesses. Veena has been in real estate full time for more than 15 years. Veena started her own real estate company, Acadia Cornerstone Real Estate, in 2010. Veena’s passion is working with buyers and sellers to get the best value for their property. Veena works tirelessly to find properties that will be a good fit for her clients. More than once Veena has talked her clients out of a property she believed would not be a good match for the people she is working with. Her motto is that she does not just want to help her clients now, but for life!
Veena’s strong financial background has helped her negotiate several large transactions that have benefited her clients, including the purchase of Bar Harbor and Ellsworth Hotels. Veena’s financial background gives her an edge when doing research to help her clients make sure they are getting the best value for their hard earned dollars. Veena’s negotiating skills have at times, saved her clients more than the commission earned. Veena is constantly educating herself in current real estate trends and marketing to maintain a sharp edge in the real estate market.

Steven Boucher Real Estate Broker: Steve is a proud native of Northeast Harbor, Maine, who brings a wealth of local knowledge to his clients. After studying at the University of Southern Maine and working various trades in the MDI area, Steve joined Acadia Cornerstone Real Estate in 2013, where he has established a reputation for his passionate commitment to serving his clients’ best interests.
With a deep dedication to finding the perfect home or apartment, Steve leverages his expertise and market insights to ensure that every client feels supported and informed throughout their journey. His exceptional customer service and devotion have cultivated a growing network of loyal clients and referrals.
Outside of real estate, Steve loves exploring the scenic trails of Acadia National Park and cherishes quality time with his wife, Amanda and son Kieran and their two beloved dogs, Monty and Milo. He is also actively involved in the community, volunteering with local non-profits, including The Bar Harbor Rotary Club, where he proudly served as President in 2017. Additionally, Steve was also a member of the board of directors for The 1932 Criterion Theatre in Bar Harbor and current board member of the Mount Desert Island YMCA, Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce and is also a town councilor for the Town of Bar Harbor, demonstrating his commitment to fostering a vibrant local culture.

Sarah Stanley, Associate Broker: Sarah joined the team at Acadia Cornerstone July of 2019. Sarah summered in Bar Harbor all her life, moving permanently to the Island in 1995 after graduating from college. She had a passion for houses and architecture from a young age, choosing favorites and dreaming of what it might be like to live in each as her family traveled up and down the coast of Maine each summer. She went on to earn a BS in Landscape Architecture and practiced on Mount Desert Island and across Maine for nearly 25 years before entering the real estate profession. Sarah has always been interested in the history of the Island and its summer estates, many of which she has had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand.
Having spent her professional life helping clients achieve their dreams through design, she looks forward to transferring that skill to assisting buyers reach their dream of the perfect home. Every real estate transaction is a unique experience, and Sarah’s vigilant attention to detail and problem solving abilities prove invaluable. She prides herself on being honest, diligent, and knowledgeable, always keeping her clients’ best interests at heart.
When not working earnestly for her wonderful clients, Sarah can be found at home in Bar Harbor with husband Todd, owner of Downeast Home Design, and their two young children. They take advantage of living in such a magnificent locale by engaging in many outdoor and community activities. Sarah currently serves on the Boards of the Simpson Cemetery Association and the Conners-Emerson PTSA. She is a past member of the Bar Harbor Planning Board and Warrant Committee.

Wendy Day, Associate Broker: Wendy joined the team at Acadia Cornerstone in August 2023. Although new to the team, Wendy is not new to Real Estate. Bringing her expertise and professionalism she has been in sales and finance for over 30 years.
Wendy can help you navigate through the process of buying or selling any type of real estate. As a native of Downeast Maine, Wendy lives in the coastal town of Surry with her husband and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. She has a son, daughter in-law, and is “Nana” to her beautiful grandchildren. Wendy enjoys playing Pickleball, Golf, sailing on the coast of Maine, and playing the drums at her church.

Stephanie Bradshaw, Associate Broker: Stephanie joined the team at Acadia Cornerstone in 2010. Stephanie moved to the Ellsworth area in June of 2007. She and her husband purchased their first home through Acadia Cornerstone in June of 2008. Stephanie enjoyed the home buying process so much she pursued her license and now does real estate full time.

Tarnya Sanborn, Sales Agent: Tarnya joined the team at Acadia Cornerstone May of 2018. Tarnya grew up on Cranberry Island, went to school in the one-roomed school house and was the daughter of a lobsterman. Tarnya went on to complete a BA in Communication from the University of Southern Maine. The island has been her home and the home of her family for seven generations. Although she lives in Lamoine with her husband Reggie, Tarnya still works hard on behalf of the people of the outer islands. Together they own Whitney’s Electric and have been taking care of the islands for over 40 years.
Tarnya still has a passion for the islands. She is a realtor that understands what it means to live on an island, the extreme beauty, unique community structure and the hardships that one could face. This is what makes her the perfect Realtor to represent a potential buyer or seller for the outer islands.
